Nicholas received a bachelor's of arts degree with honors from Newman University in May 2002. He graduated with honors from Creighton University School of Law in May 2005 with a concentration in dispute resolution. While at Creighton, Nicholas was a member of the Creighton Law Review, a member of the Student Bar Association, and participated in both moot court and mock trial competitions.

    Nicholas is married to Kateri, and together they have one son, Mason. They are parishioners at Christ the King, where Nicholas is a member of the Knights of Columbus. While not at work, the family enjoys participating in Mason's baseball escapades.
