I shot this image with the Panasonic Lumix FMZ28. It’s actually just a small little camera that I borrowed from my photo teacher. Photoshop was used for this image, but not in an extreme way.
For this photo, I wanted to have two completely opposite things. A beautiful prom dress and a cracked, dirt ground. The idea illustrates having a beautiful girl having everyone think she has it together, but she’s really lost in the Kansas life. When people think of Kansas they think of grass, dirt roads, and farms. Yet when I think of it, beauty pops into mind. This photo has a wonderful combination of thoughts about Kansas.
